Who We Are

Velgrina was founded in 2024 with a clear premise: most kitchen accessories are designed to be sold, not to be used. They pile up on countertops, crowd under sinks, and occupy drawer space for years without earning it. We set out to build a product line where every item either disappears when not in use or looks intentional enough to leave out.

Our team tests every prototype in working kitchens — tracking how people move around their sinks, where they naturally set things down, and how much space a "compact" drying rack actually occupies versus what the packaging claims. That observation process shapes dimensions, folding mechanisms, and weight distribution before anything reaches a production run. We reject designs that don't have a clear answer to the question: where does this go when I am not using it?

Our Materials

Every material in a Velgrina product is chosen for a specific reason. Stainless steel components use food-grade 304 stainless — the same alloy grade used in commercial kitchens. It resists corrosion from citrus acids, tomato compounds, and salt, and does not harbor bacteria the way porous surfaces can. We use 304 rather than the cheaper 201 grade because 201 contains less nickel and corrodes faster when it contacts acidic foods.

Wooden components in the Iroko Cutting Board and 3-in-1 Cutting and Serving Board use iroko hardwood, a dense West African timber. It absorbs significantly less moisture than softer woods like pine or rubberwood, making it more resistant to warping and splitting over years of kitchen use. The Beech Wood Board uses European beech, the traditional standard for professional cutting boards, valued for its closed grain structure and durability under repeated knife contact.

Plastic and polymer components — colanders, strainer baskets, soap dish holders — are BPA-free and rated for contact with hot water. Food-grade silicone tips on our roll-up drying racks are heat-resistant to 400°F (204°C), making them safe as trivets for hot cookware removed directly from the stove.

What We Make

Velgrina products cover four kitchen zones: prep, sink, drying, and drain. The prep zone includes our cutting boards — the 3-in-1 Iroko board with a removable stainless insert that doubles as a serving board, the Beech Wood Board treated with food-grade mineral oil, and the Precision HPL Cutting Board, which is dishwasher safe and rated for five years of daily use. The sink zone centers on our over-the-sink colanders, which adjust from approximately 13.5 to 21 inches to fit standard US kitchen sink widths, and the Telescopic Strainer Tray for rinsing produce or draining pasta directly over the sink. The 2-in-1 Glass Rinser integrates into the sink drain itself, requiring no countertop drilling or additional counter space.

The drying zone includes a roll-up stainless steel mat with silicone tips, and a silicone drying mat with integrated soap dish holder, both of which store flat or rolled when not in use. The drain zone includes the Decorative Drain Cover and the Stainless Steel Strainer — both designed to replace standard drain hardware with components that match a modern kitchen aesthetic without looking like afterthought accessories.

All Velgrina products are sold through Amazon with free Prime shipping across the continental United States. Warranty terms vary by product — from 12 months on beech wood boards to 60 months on the Precision HPL Cutting Board.
